Nine Portuguese companies at information technology and media management comprise the new business cluster for innovation from RTP, which is part GSoft.
Named “Portuguese Innovative Media Solutions – PIMS”, the cluster aims to create an innovative offer in media area, developing new generation solutions and positioning RTP as the “most innovative companies in terms of technology “, said Alberto da Ponte, president of RTP, at Cluster’s launching ceremony in October 3rd.
This cluster summarizes companies with different and complementary skills in technology areas such as digital marketing, mobile TV and TV solutions targeted to different gadgets, media platforms integration, video on demand, live video streaming, metadata management, search and automatic decoding sound, real-time broadcast graphics, broadcast resource planning and digital content management.
The next 18 and 24 months will be decisive to place RTP as the broadcast company with the most technologically advanced operative model in Portugal. Viewers and page viewers will also experience a new way to watch television through the utmost advanced developments in a “Cloud” environment at virtualization processes, content management, graphic design, wireless video, digital marketing services, big data and second screen, among others.
The new brand from RTP universe aims to achieve the global media market and be known abroad trough RTP Internacional, RTP África, the European Broadcasting Union.
To GSoft to be part at this pioneering project is a unique opportunity, a challenge in which GSoft intends to contribute with its experience in Broadcast Resource Planning solutions and Digital Content planning and management.
According to Paulo Jardim, GSoft COO, “We can give an important contribution to the media cluster with our expertise, experience and solutions, namely with the no structured Media Asset Management (MAM) product – Media Vault. It is our goal to leverage this solution to answer to the “digital revolution” in the business media, considering new operating and business models.”
The media cluster will decisively help to strengthen the presence of GSoft in the world, alongside the internationalization strategy followed by the company many years ago, with noteworthy case studies in Portugal and in countries such as Angola, Brazil and Spain.
